Built for harsh and demanding environments, the PVS-14E is a rugged, multi-purpose night vision device that can be used as a handheld monocular or mounted on the included head harness for hands-free use. Its redesigned, more compact objective lens and eyepiece reduce overall size and bring the weight down to just 10.2 oz (290 g), making it more comfortable for extended use.

One of the key improvements of the PVS-14E is its advanced electronic control system. The unit features an Auto Shut-Off function that powers the device down when it is articulated out of your line of sight, and turns it back on automatically when brought back into position. This not only saves battery life, but also adds convenience during dynamic use.

To maximize flexibility in the field, the PVS-14E supports multiple battery types (AA or CR123). Thanks to its electronic polarity switching system, there is no need to pay attention to battery orientation – simply insert the battery and the device is ready to use.

The PVS-14E also includes manual gain control for fine-tuning image brightness, an automatic bright light shut-off to protect the photocathode, and a built-in IR illuminator for use in extremely low-light or no-light conditions. When ambient light levels drop back below the protection threshold, the device automatically turns itself back on.
